Privacy Policy — Launchr.bot
Effective Date: August 21, 2026
Last Updated: August 23, 2026
Launchr Pty Ltd (ABN 46 696 518 206), trading as Launchr.bot, is an Australian software development company registered in Queensland. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, hold, disclose, and protect your personal information.
We take your privacy seriously. This policy is written in plain English because you should understand exactly what we do with your data — no jargon, no small print tricks.
Plain Language Summary
Here's the short version:
- We collect information to deliver our service to you. When you sign up, we ask for contact details and business information. When you use Launchr, we log what you do — so we can help if something breaks, fix bugs, and improve the service.
- We never collect or hold your customers' payment data. Your customers pay you, into your own payment account. We don't see their payment card details, we don't hold them, and we don't process them. That's between your customers and Stripe.
- We share data only when we have to. We use trusted service providers (like Stripe for payment processing and cloud services for hosting) and we tell them to protect your data.
- You have rights over your data. You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, delete it, or stop using it for certain purposes — and we'll sort it within 30 days.
- We hold your data securely. We use industry-standard encryption, secure servers, and access controls to keep your information safe.
- We won't sell your data. We don't sell or trade your personal information to anyone.
1. Who We Are
Launchr Pty Ltd
ABN 46 696 518 206
Queensland, Australia
Email: legal@launchr.bot
Phone: +61 7 4800 4040
We're a software development company that builds custom applications, fixes existing software, manages live apps, and builds websites for small business owners.
2. What Personal Information We Collect and Why
2.1 Information You Give Us Directly
When you use Launchr.bot, we ask you for information to:
- Set up and manage your account
- Deliver the services you've asked for
- Communicate with you about your project
- Send invoices and process your payments
- Respond to your questions and support requests
Specifically, we collect:
| Information | Why We Collect It |
|---|---|
| Name and contact details (email, phone number) | To set up your account, contact you about your project, and send invoices. |
| Business name and description | To understand what you're building and scope your project properly. |
| Business address | For invoicing and to comply with Australian law. |
| Website or portfolio links (if you provide them) | To understand your existing business and user base. |
| Payment information (your Stripe account details) | So you can accept payments from your own customers — we process this through Stripe only, we don't store it. |
| Project brief and scope | To quote your build and deliver what you've asked for. |
| Communications (emails, messages, calls) | To manage your project, answer questions, and keep records. |
2.2 Information We Collect Automatically
When you use the Launchr platform (the website, app builder, or any Launchr tool), we collect information about how you use it.
Specifically, we collect:
| Information | Why We Collect It |
|---|---|
| Login activity | To secure your account and prevent unauthorised access. |
| Pages you visit and features you use | To understand what's working, fix problems, and improve the platform. |
| Time spent in the app | To measure performance and identify bugs. |
| Errors and crashes | So we can fix them quickly. |
| Device and browser information (device type, operating system, browser type) | To make sure Launchr works on your devices and troubleshoot problems. |
| IP address | To deliver the service securely and detect suspicious activity. |
| Analytics data | To understand how people use Launchr and make it better. |
2.3 Information You Create or Upload
If you use Launchr to build a product, you may upload or create:
| Information | Why We Hold It |
|---|---|
| Project files, code, mockups, design assets | To build and deliver your product. |
| Configuration data and API keys (if you provide them) | To integrate your app with third-party services you've chosen. |
| Credentials for third-party services | To facilitate integrations you've requested. |
Important: We hold all of this as your client data. You own it completely. We're just storing it securely while we work on your project and, if you're on a RUN management plan, while we look after your app for you.
2.4 Information From Third Parties
We may receive information about you from:
| Source | Information We Receive |
|---|---|
| Stripe (payment processor) | Transaction records and invoicing data — not payment card details. |
| Other service providers | Error reports, analytics, or communication logs when you use integrated tools. |
| Publicly available information | Your business name, website, or public LinkedIn profile if you share it. |
3. What We DON'T Collect, Hold, or Process
3.1 Payment Card Details — Absolutely Not
This is important: we do not, and never will, collect or hold your customers' payment card details.
Here's how it works:
- Your customers pay you, into your own Stripe account.
- The payment card details go directly from your customer to Stripe — they never touch our servers.
- We don't see the card numbers, expiry dates, CVV codes, or any payment card data.
- We don't hold it, process it, or pass it on.
- Stripe handles the entire payment, and the money goes straight to your account.
Why? Because we're not a payment processor. We're a software development company. Payment processing is complex, regulated, and requires special compliance. We stay in our lane and let Stripe (a specialist) handle theirs.
If you want to accept payments from your customers, you set up your own Stripe account. We help you integrate it into your app, but we never touch the payment data. See Section 6 for more on how Stripe works with us.
3.2 Other Data We Don't Collect
- Sensitive information like race, religion, political views, union membership, or health data — unless you voluntarily tell us (in which case we treat it as sensitive under the Australian Privacy Act).
- Biometric information or genetic data.
- Data about minors, unless you're their parent/guardian and you've told us so.
- Your banking details, except for the payment method you use to pay us for our services.
4. Legal Basis for Processing Your Personal Information
We collect and use your personal information for these reasons:
4.1 To Deliver Our Service to You
We need your personal information to:
- Set up your account
- Build or fix your product
- Manage your app if you're on a RUN plan
- Send you invoices and process your payment
- Respond to your support requests
Legal basis: We have a contract with you, and we need this information to perform our obligations under it.
4.2 To Comply with Australian Law
We collect and hold information as required by:
- The Australian Consumer Law (so we can process refunds if something goes wrong)
- The Privacy Act 1988 (Cth)
- The Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)
- Queensland taxation laws
- Australian Business Register requirements
Legal basis: It's required by law.
4.3 To Keep You Safe
We use your information to:
- Prevent fraud and abuse
- Detect and stop unauthorised access to your account
- Investigate suspected breaches of our Terms of Service
Legal basis: It's in our legitimate business interest (and yours) to keep your account secure and our platform safe.
4.4 To Improve Launchr
We analyse how people use Launchr to:
- Fix bugs and crashes
- Improve features and user experience
- Plan new features
- Understand performance issues
Legal basis: It's in our legitimate business interest to make Launchr better.
4.5 To Communicate With You
We send you:
- Emails about your project
- Invoices and receipts
- Updates about the Launchr platform
- Important notices (like changes to this policy)
- Marketing emails (only if you've opted in)
Legal basis: We have a contract with you, or we have your permission (for marketing). You can opt out of marketing anytime by replying "unsubscribe" to any email.
5. How We Use Your Information — The Detail
5.1 Running Your Project
When you hire us to build, fix, or manage something:
- We read your project brief, understand what you need, and scopes the work.
- We use your business information to quote accurately.
- We store your project files, code, mockups, and assets while we work.
- We log what we're doing (commits, deployments, changes) so we can track progress and fix problems.
- We keep records of our communications with you (emails, Slack messages, calls) so there's a clear record of what was agreed.
Who sees this? Only Launchr team members working on your project.
5.2 Hosting and Managing Your App
If we build an app for you or you're on a RUN management plan:
- We store your app's code, configuration, and data on secure cloud servers.
- We monitor the app for errors, crashes, and performance issues.
- We keep automated logs (server logs, error logs, uptime logs) so we can diagnose and fix problems.
- If you've given us permission, we access your app to install updates or security patches.
Who sees this? Only Launchr team members managing your app.
5.3 Billing and Invoicing
- We create an invoice showing what service you used and what you owe.
- We send it to the email you registered with.
- We process your payment through Stripe (see Section 6).
- We keep records of all invoices and payments for Australian tax purposes.
Who sees this? Launchr's finance team and your nominated email address.
5.4 Analytics and Improvement
- We track how you use the Launchr platform (not your app — just our platform).
- We measure which features people use most, where they get stuck, and what causes crashes.
- We use this to fix bugs, improve design, and plan new features.
- We may share aggregated, anonymised statistics with our team (e.g., "60% of users build in the <Basic> tier", "the project-upload feature crashes 2% of the time").
Who sees this? Only Launchr team members. We don't share individual analytics with anyone else.
5.5 Security and Fraud Prevention
- We log login attempts, failed logins, and suspicious activity.
- We use automated tools to detect and block abuse.
- If we suspect fraud or a breach of our Terms, we may investigate your account and communications.
Who sees this? Only Launchr's security and operations team, and only when there's a genuine risk or complaint.
5.6 Legal and Compliance
- We keep records of invoices, communications, and project delivery to comply with Australian law and to defend ourselves if there's a dispute.
- We may disclose information if required by a court order, warrant, or legal authority.
- We keep records to meet our obligations under the Australian Consumer Law and the Privacy Act.
Who sees this? Only Launchr's leadership and legal team, and only when required by law or a legitimate legal process.
6. Stripe and Payment Processing — How It Works
6.1 What Stripe Does
Stripe is a payment processor used by millions of businesses worldwide. When your customers pay you:
- Your customer enters their card details into Stripe's payment form (hosted on Stripe's secure servers, not ours).
- Stripe processes the payment, encrypts the card details, and verifies the transaction.
- The money goes directly to your Stripe account.
- You can see the transaction in your Stripe dashboard.
6.2 What Launchr Does NOT Do
- We do not see your customers' card numbers, expiry dates, or CVV codes.
- We do not store payment card data on our servers.
- We do not hold or manage your customers' payment information.
- We do not transmit card details between you and Stripe.
- We do not have access to your Stripe account (unless you've explicitly given us permission to help with troubleshooting).
6.3 What Launchr DOES Do
- We help you set up a Stripe account (in your name, under your control).
- We integrate Stripe's payment form into your app so your customers can pay you.
- We may help troubleshoot payment issues (with your permission).
- We receive transaction records from Stripe (order number, amount, date) for invoicing purposes — but never the card details.
6.4 Why This Matters
Because Launchr is not a payment processor:
- You are in complete control of your Stripe account and your customer payments.
- Your payments are protected by Stripe's security (PCI DSS compliance, encryption, fraud monitoring).
- You're not locked into Launchr for payments — you own your Stripe account and can move it anytime.
- Our Terms and Privacy Policy don't need to comply with complex payment processing regulations — we don't process payments.
6.5 Stripe's Privacy and Security
Stripe is a PCI DSS Level 1 compliant payment processor. For details on how Stripe handles your data, see Stripe's Privacy Policy.
7. Who We Share Your Information With
7.1 Our Team
Only Launchr team members who need to see your information to do their job have access. This includes:
- Developers and builders working on your project
- Project managers coordinating your work
- Support staff answering your questions
- Finance staff processing invoices
7.2 Service Providers (Data Processors)
We use trusted third-party companies to help us deliver Launchr. We have written data-processing agreements with all of them requiring them to:
- Keep your data confidential
- Use it only for the purpose we've told them
- Not sell it or share it with anyone else
- Protect it with industry-standard security
Our key service providers are:
| Service | Purpose | Privacy & Security |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Cloud hosting, compute, databases, and object storage for the Launchr platform and the apps we operate | Cloudflare Privacy Policy. Encryption in transit and at rest on a global network. |
| Stripe | Payment processing and invoicing | Stripe Privacy Policy. PCI DSS Level 1. We don't pass card details to Stripe — your customers do. |
| Resend | Sending transactional email (invoices, notifications, account and booking email) | Resend Privacy Policy. Email is encrypted in transit. We don't share customer lists with any email provider. |
| Anthropic | AI processing — our Agents run largely on Anthropic's Claude models | Anthropic Privacy Policy. API inputs and outputs are not used to train their models. |
| OpenAI | AI processing — some agent operations use OpenAI models | OpenAI Privacy Policy. API inputs and outputs are not used to train their models. |
| Cloudflare Web Analytics | Understanding how people use launchr.bot | Privacy-first analytics: no cookies, no cross-site tracking, no individual profiles. |
7.3 Legal Authorities
We may disclose your information if:
- A court orders us to (court order, warrant, subpoena)
- Australian law requires it (e.g., AUSTRAC for tax compliance, ASIC if there's a regulatory issue)
- There's a genuine emergency affecting public safety
- We reasonably believe you've breached our Terms of Service or Australian law
We will notify you if we're required to disclose your information unless the law says we can't.
7.4 What We Never Do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not trade your data.
- We do not share your information with marketers, brokers, or data aggregators.
- We do not share more information than is necessary.
- We do not allow service providers to use your information for their own purposes.
8. How Long We Keep Your Information
8.1 Active Project or Service
While you're a customer (or while your project is underway), we hold your personal information for as long as necessary to deliver the service.
8.2 After You Leave
Once your project is complete or you stop using Launchr:
| Information | How Long We Keep It | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Account information and contact details | 7 years | To comply with Australian tax law and to respond to disputes. |
| Project files and code | 7 years (or longer if you ask us to) | So you can request a copy, and to defend ourselves if there's a dispute. |
| Invoices and payment records | 7 years | Australian tax law requires it. |
| Support tickets and communications | 2 years | To handle follow-up requests and disputes. |
| Analytics data (anonymised) | 2 years | To improve Launchr. |
| Server logs and error logs | 90 days | To troubleshoot issues and detect security threats. |
| Backup copies of your data | Up to 30 days after deletion | So we can recover your information if you ask within 30 days. |
8.3 You Can Ask Us to Delete Sooner
You have the right to ask us to delete your personal information anytime. We'll delete it within 30 days, unless:
- We're required to keep it by law (e.g., tax records, court orders)
- We need it to defend a legal dispute
- We've anonymised it (so it's no longer personal information)
9. How We Protect Your Information
9.1 Security Standards
We use industry-standard protections:
| Protection | How It Works |
|---|---|
| Encryption in transit | Your data is encrypted (TLS 1.2 or higher) when it travels between your device and our servers. |
| Encryption at rest | Data stored on our servers is encrypted using AES-256 or equivalent. |
| Secure servers | We host data on Cloudflare's global network, which provides physical security, access controls, and continuous monitoring. |
| Access controls | Only authorised Launchr staff can access your data. We use role-based access (developers see only what they're building, support staff see only support tickets). |
| Restricted administrative access | Administrative access to systems that handle customer data is limited to authorised staff and protected with strong authentication. |
| Firewalls and intrusion detection | We monitor for unauthorised access attempts. |
| Regular security updates | We patch software vulnerabilities promptly. |
9.2 What We Don't Do
- We don't store passwords in plain text. We store only salted one-way password hashes using industry-standard key derivation.
- We don't email sensitive information like API keys or credentials.
- We don't use outdated encryption (TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1, HTTP instead of HTTPS).
- We don't store credit card details on our servers (Stripe does that, not us).
9.3 Data Breaches
If there's a security breach affecting your personal information:
- We will investigate it immediately.
- We will notify you within a reasonable time (typically within 30 days, unless the Australian Privacy Commissioner says otherwise).
- We will tell you what information was affected and what steps we're taking to fix it.
- We may be required to notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
10. Your Privacy Rights Under Australian Law
You have rights over your personal information. The Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) gives you these rights:
10.1 Right to Access
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you.
To ask for access:
- Email us at legal@launchr.bot or privacy@launchr.bot
- Include your name and account details so we can identify your records
We'll provide your information within 30 days. If it's complex, we may ask for more time (we'll tell you why). The information is free unless it's a large request (in which case we'll quote a reasonable cost before we start).
10.2 Right to Correct
You can ask us to fix information that's wrong or outdated.
If you notice we've got your details wrong (your name, business address, phone number), tell us and we'll fix it. Just email legal@launchr.bot or update it in your account settings.
We'll correct it promptly. If you disagree with us about whether information is accurate, you can ask us to note your disagreement on your file.
10.3 Right to Complain
If you're not happy with how we've handled your data, you can complain.
- Email us first: legal@launchr.bot. Tell us what's wrong, and we'll try to fix it within 30 days.
- If we don't sort it, or you're not happy with our response, you can complain to the Australian Information Commissioner:
Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC)
Phone: 1300 363 992
Email: enquiries@oaic.gov.au
Website: www.oaic.gov.au
There's no charge for making a complaint.
10.4 Right to Ask Us to Stop Using Your Data for Certain Purposes
Under the Privacy Act, you can ask us to stop using your information for:
- Marketing (you can do this by replying "unsubscribe" to any email)
- Direct marketing calls or SMS
We'll stop within a reasonable time.
Note: You can't ask us to stop using your data for core purposes like delivering your project or complying with the law. But you can opt out of marketing.
10.5 Australian Privacy Principles (APPs)
Your personal information is protected by 13 Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in the Privacy Act. Here's how we comply with each:
| APP | What It Says | How We Comply |
|---|---|---|
| APP 1 | Open and transparent management of personal information | This Privacy Policy tells you what we collect and why, and we keep it current. |
| APP 2 | Anonymity and pseudonymity | Where it's practical — like browsing launchr.bot — you can deal with us without identifying yourself. |
| APP 3 | Collection of solicited personal information | We only ask you for information we need to deliver the service. We don't ask for sensitive data unless necessary. |
| APP 4 | Dealing with unsolicited personal information | If we receive personal information we didn't ask for and don't need, we destroy or de-identify it where lawful. |
| APP 5 | Notification of the collection of personal information | We tell you (in this policy and on our forms) what we collect, why, and who sees it. |
| APP 6 | Use or disclosure of personal information | We use your information only for purposes you'd reasonably expect and that we've told you about. We don't use it for any other purpose without your consent. |
| APP 7 | Direct marketing | We ask for your permission before sending marketing emails. You can opt out anytime. |
| APP 8 | Cross-border disclosure of personal information | Some of our service providers are overseas (see section 11). We take reasonable steps to ensure they protect your information to Australian standards. |
| APP 9 | Adoption, use, or disclosure of government related identifiers | We don't use government identifiers like Tax File Numbers or driver's licence numbers for anything other than what we're required to by law. |
| APP 10 | Quality of personal information | We take reasonable steps to make sure your information is accurate, up-to-date, complete, and relevant. You can ask us to correct it. |
| APP 11 | Security of personal information | We use industry-standard security (encryption, access controls, firewalls, regular security updates), and we destroy or de-identify information we no longer need. If there's a breach, we'll tell you. |
| APP 12 | Access to personal information | You can ask us what information we hold about you. We'll respond within 30 days. |
| APP 13 | Correction of personal information | You can ask us to correct anything that's wrong or out of date, and we'll fix it promptly. |
11. Overseas Disclosure and Cross-Border Data Transfers
11.1 Where Your Data Is Stored
Your personal information is stored on Cloudflare's global network. Cloudflare is a US-headquartered provider with data centres worldwide, so data is stored and processed across multiple countries rather than in a single region.
11.2 Service Providers in Other Countries
Some of our service providers operate from outside Australia:
| Service Provider | Location | Data Transfer |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare | United States (global network) | Hosting, compute, and storage across Cloudflare's worldwide data centres. |
| Stripe | United States | Payment data (not card details) is processed by Stripe's US-based systems. Stripe is contractually required to protect Australian data. |
| Resend | United States | Transactional email and delivery logs. |
| Anthropic | United States | AI processing during builds and agent operations. API data is not used for model training. |
| OpenAI | United States | AI processing during some agent operations. API data is not used for model training. |
11.3 Your Consent
By using Launchr, you consent to your personal information being transferred to and processed by these overseas service providers. We have contractual safeguards in place (Data Processing Agreements) requiring them to protect your data to Australian Privacy Act standards.
11.4 GDPR Compliance (If You're in the EU)
If you're in the European Union or European Economic Area (EEA):
Launchr is not a "processor" under GDPR. You are the data controller (because you own your project data). We're a "processor" only in the limited sense that we store and manage your data on your behalf.
Our data processing practices:
- We process your personal information only on your instructions.
- We have a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) in place if you're an EU resident or business.
- We comply with GDPR data subject rights (access, correction, deletion, portability, objection).
- We don't use your data for any purpose other than delivering Launchr services.
- If there's a data breach affecting EU residents, we'll notify affected individuals without undue delay, and the relevant supervisory authority within 72 hours where required (GDPR Articles 33 and 34).
For GDPR-specific questions, contact us at legal@launchr.bot.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if:
- Our practices change
- The law changes
- We want to clarify something
How we'll tell you:
- We'll post the new version at launchr.bot/legal/privacy
- If the change affects your rights significantly, we'll email you with a 30-day notice
- For minor clarifications, we'll just update the page
The "Last Updated" date at the top tells you when we last changed it. If we make a material change, we'll ask for your consent (where required by law).

15.2 Third-Party Links
This Privacy Policy applies only to Launchr.bot. If you follow links to other websites (including Stripe, Cloudflare, or other service providers), their privacy policies apply, not ours. We're not responsible for how third parties handle your data — check their privacy policies.
15.3 Security Limitations
While we use industry-standard security, no system is 100% secure. If you have concerns about the security of your information on Launchr, contact us immediately at legal@launchr.bot.
15.4 What This Policy Doesn't Cover
This Privacy Policy is about Launchr.bot's handling of your personal information. It doesn't cover:
- How your app (the one we build for you) handles your customers' information — that's your responsibility
- How third-party services (Stripe, Cloudflare, etc.) handle data — see their privacy policies
- Your own internal privacy practices
Important: If you're using Launchr to build an app for your customers, you are responsible for having your own privacy policy and for complying with privacy laws that apply to your app. We help you understand data protection, but you're the data controller for your customers' data.
15.5 Your Sole Remedy
If Launchr mishandles your personal information in a way that's not a breach of Australian law, your sole remedy is to ask us to fix it or delete the information. You agree that you won't pursue legal action against Launchr for privacy issues that don't breach the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
However: This clause does not exclude or limit any of your rights under Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded.
15.6 Legal Review Disclaimer
This Privacy Policy has been drafted to comply with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the 13 Australian Privacy Principles, and relevant state laws. It is not legal advice. While we've taken care to ensure accuracy, you may wish to have this policy reviewed by a qualified Australian legal practitioner to confirm it meets the specific requirements of your jurisdiction and business model.

18. Summary — Privacy in Three Sentences
- We collect personal information you give us and information about how you use Launchr, and we use it to deliver our service, comply with the law, and improve the platform.
- We never collect, hold, or process your customers' payment card details — that's Stripe's job, and you're in control of your own Stripe account.
- You have privacy rights (access, correction, deletion, complaint) under Australian law, and we protect your data with encryption, access controls, and secure servers — but if you're not happy, you can contact us or the Australian Information Commissioner.
