FAQ

Common questions, honest answers.

The questions people ask before signing up. If yours isn't here, the contact details are at the bottom — or just email hello@launchr.bot.

General

General Launchr.

Who we are, what we do, how to reach us.

Who is Launchr?

A small Australian company building a different kind of services business. We're 14 Agents, 5 humans, and one border collie who keeps everyone honest. We help people with ideas turn them into working products — through two doors: Architect (we build it from your pitch) and Ignite (we fix what you've built).

Where are you based?

Brisbane, Australia. We work AEST hours (humans, anyway — agents work 24/7). We currently service Australia and New Zealand only.

Are you an agency?

No. Agencies sell people. We sell outcomes. Our 14 agents handle the work agencies bill humans for — at a fraction of the cost. Humans on our team focus where judgment is needed (legal calls, design direction, client relationships) rather than line-item billable hours.

What's the deal with the agents?

Each agent is a specialist trained to do one thing well — operations, legal, marketing, security, finance, design, and so on. Together they form a "Board" that handles work end-to-end. They're real, they're working, and they have personalities. Visit the team page to meet them.

How do I get in touch?

Several ways. Each agent has their own email — write to them by name (bec@launchr.bot for Bec) or by role (legal@launchr.bot for Davo) and they'll reply in their own voice. For phone or live chat, Connie (our comms agent) handles the main line and the chat bubble — she forwards to humans when needed or takes a callback message. Phone and chat are launching shortly. For anything else: hello@launchr.bot, or Gareth and Leigh directly.

Is Launchr publicly traded / VC-funded?

No. Launchr is privately owned by Gareth and Leigh. No outside investors, no quarterly pressure. We answer to our customers and to each other.

Ignite

App rescue & managed service.

For apps that work on your laptop but not for your customers.

What kinds of apps do you work on?

Web apps, mobile apps, APIs, and SaaS products — built however. AI builders, no-code tools, freelancer-built, or your own code. If it's broken or not production-ready, we can probably help. We're currently servicing Australia and New Zealand only.

Is my code safe with you?

Yes. Your code is yours, always. We access it only to do the work, we don't share or sell it, and we delete our access within 14 days of completion. Full terms in the Service Agreement.

What if you can't fix it?

We tell you. Not every app is rescuable — sometimes the right answer is a rebuild, sometimes the project isn't ready yet, and sometimes it's a "no" entirely. The scan tells us before we take your money. If we can't help, we say so.

How long does it actually take?

Quick Fix: 1–2 business days. Rescue: 3–5 business days. Launch Ready: 5–10 business days. Complex issues can take longer — we tell you before the original deadline if the timeline shifts.

Do you do new features or just fixes?

Fixes only. We're not a feature shop. If you want new functionality, that's a separate engagement (or, if you're building from scratch, that's Launchr Architect's domain when it opens).

What happens after the fix?

Two paths. You take your now-working app and go — your code, your hosting, your call. Or you sign up for Managed Service and we keep watching it for you (ongoing monitoring, regular security scans, and business-hours human support — set up with you directly). Your choice, no pressure.

Architect

Pitch to profit.

Idea-stage to live-product builds.

What's the Pitch actually?

Your first Pitch is free — a review of your idea by the full Agent board. Within 48 hours you receive a detailed report with one of three verdicts — Ship it, Pivot it, or Kill it — plus the reasoning, and a fixed-scope build quote if it's worth building.

What if the Board says "Kill it"?

You keep the report and the reasoning. We tell you what's worth considering instead, and any pivots that might salvage parts of the original idea. And because your first Pitch is free, finding out an idea won't fly costs you nothing — a lot better than spending US$30,000 building the wrong thing.

How long does a build take?

Most builds ship in 2–8 weeks depending on scope. Mobile apps and SaaS platforms tend to take longer than landing-page websites. The Board scopes the timeline as part of the verdict; if we can't hit a date you need, we say so up front.

Do I own what you build?

Specifics depend on the tier you're on. For Custom builds, the answer is yes — full IP transfer, you own everything, we retain no copy. On our Build and Manage plans, you own your business, your customers, and your data; the underlying platform terms are spelled out in the Service Agreement. Read the SA before signing — Davo (our legal agent) wrote it in plain English on purpose.

What if my idea is similar to yours?

We build for the customer, not against them. Confidentiality is in our service agreement. We don't take pitches from direct competitors of clients we're already working with — and if we spot a conflict, we tell you.

Can I bring my own designer / developer?

Generally no. The Board works as one team — bringing in an external person mid-build creates handoff problems and slows everyone down. If you have specific requirements (e.g., "we already have a brand guideline"), we work within them.

Pricing

Pricing & payment.

How money works at Launchr.

What payment methods do you accept?

Credit card via Stripe for one-off payments (Ignite scans and Architect builds). Credit card or direct debit for recurring Manage plans. Invoiced milestones for larger custom engagements.

What currency are prices in?

All prices are shown in US dollars (USD). At checkout, Stripe automatically shows the amount in your local currency, so there are no surprises — you see exactly what you'll be charged before you pay.

Do you offer refunds?

Refund terms vary by service. Your first Pitch is free, so there's nothing to refund there. For Ignite and other engagement-based work, refund eligibility depends on stage of completion, spelled out in the Service Agreement. Manage plans can be cancelled at any time — and remember, if we can't deliver your app working as pitched, you don't pay. Read the SA before signing — we're transparent about what's refundable and what's not.

What does "it works, or you don't pay" actually mean?

Exactly what it says: if we can't deliver your app working as pitched, you're fully refunded. We check your app against every acceptance point from your pitch before we send you the preview, and for apps we can run end-to-end we drive the live app to confirm it works before you approve. This guarantee is a warranty against defects and is binding on us in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled to cancel your service contract with us and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value; you are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods. If a failure does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have it rectified in a reasonable time. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. The benefits of this guarantee are in addition to other rights and remedies you have under the law. To make a claim, email legal@launchr.bot within 30 days of delivery — we bear the reasonable expenses of making a claim. Full terms: Terms of Service, clause 10.7–10.8.

Do you take payment plans?

For larger custom builds: yes, milestone-based. For Manage plans: monthly billing, cancel anytime. For Ignite scans and fixed-scope builds: full payment up front.

What if I can't afford this?

We're not going to be the cheapest option. We're trying to be honest and good. If price is the blocker, your first Pitch is free — the lowest-commitment way to find out if your idea even works, and if it doesn't, you've saved yourself the rest. Beyond that, we don't negotiate prices, but we'll tell you honestly if a different tier suits you better.

Why is the Build tier priced so differently from competitors?

Because most of the work is done by agents, not humans. Agents don't have salaries, holiday pay, or office overheads. We pass the savings on. Compare us to building a team of 7 specialists yourself (around US$8,000/mo) — that's the comparison that makes sense.

Privacy

Privacy & data.

The trust questions.

What do you do with my data?

We use it to deliver the work you've paid for. We don't sell it, share it, or use it to train external models. Full terms are in our Privacy Policy.

Where is my data stored?

Australian-hosted infrastructure where possible. Some agent operations route through international LLM providers under their data-processing agreements — meaning your data isn't used for training and is deleted on a rolling basis. Specifics in the Privacy Policy.

Are the agents using my data to learn?

No. The agents work on your project but don't store project-specific learnings into their general training. Each project is contained.

What happens to my data if I leave?

Retention and deletion timelines vary by service and are spelled out in our Service Agreement. As a baseline: we don't keep your data longer than we have to.

Is there a Service Agreement / contract?

Yes. Different agreements for different services (Ignite SA, Architect SA, Manage plan terms). All signed before work begins. They're written in plain English wherever possible — Davo (legal agent) reviews them but doesn't make them needlessly hostile.

What about confidentiality / NDA?

Confidentiality is built into our Service Agreement. We can sign a separate NDA on request, though it's usually unnecessary — our SA is already protective.

Still have questions?

Covered the common ones here. If yours isn’t, ask us directly — we’d rather answer than have you guess.
